The Internet and the modern languages classroom
You can use se the WWW to collect a wide range of materials which you could adapt for teaching French, German or Spanish. The language areas you might consider for KS 3 & 4 are: School. Home Life. Food.
Free time, holidays and special occasions. Leisure and entertainment.
Home town, local environment and customs. Shopping.
Accommodation.
1\. Using Yahooligans search engine type in a key word(s) in the target language and see
what you can find.
2\. Some websites provide ready made worksheets/activities which you can download
to use. Have a look at the following sites. Remember also that sites for languages
other than your own will probably give you some ideas which you can adapt.

3\. The Internet can help you make contact with teachers from schools abroad with a view to establishing an exchange of materials, pupils' e-mails, carrying out joint activities or organising exchange visits. The following sites are useful starting points:

5\. Sound and speech on the WWW
The Web can also be a fruitful source of listening material for use in the modern languages classroom. If your computer is equipped with a 'sound blaster' card (Real Audio) and speakers you can exploit a number of useful resources on the Web.
There are a number of Intemet Radio stations in different languages. You can dial them up and listen to live radio broadcasts. Even if you don't have the necessary equipment to listen, there are screen pages of written information about the station, its presenters and the programmes.
