Bartlett's Familiar Quotations
Bartlett's has been a mainstay of the "compleat" reference library for many years. Every desk should have one. And every Net-connected computer can. The good folks at Columbia University's Project Bartleby have made an early (1901) edition of this handy work available on the Internet. It's fully hyper-linked and completely searchable. You can find pithy quotes by keyword or by author (from Adams to Zouch). If you're interested in quotes from a particular period, the authors are even listed chronologically. The search engine can be customized by power searchers. The only drawback: the resource stops at 1901. Of course, some folks think that nothing worth quoting has been said since then . . .

Geocities "It's a community thing"
Geocities can provide you with 10 mb of free web space provided you are over 16 years of age. You will have to suffer some advertising but by careful writing of a web page you can have it inserted at the bottom of your page. Geocities is divided up into communities and each community has a particular theme. Athens is the educational area of Geocities. To find a web space you have to go house hunting. Go into a particular neighbourhood and look for an empty house. If you like its location then you register it for yourself.

The first web page you create must be called index.html - when Geocities launches your site it looks for a file called index.html. (It's like having autoexec.bat on a PC).

Netword.com
Visit this site and change your long Geocities name to a such smaller one to make it easier to remember :

eg http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Troy/4579 can become http://www.netword.com/EdulinksUK
It's easy to do and very worthwhile.
